The sculptures of Marina Pombar faithfully reflect the constant process of metamorphosis as each experience lived through is digested, pleasing the ingenuity and creativity itself. There is something touching about her attempts to show her melancholy representing herself as a lonely woman.The majority of her sculptured personages do not look upon the spectator. Her couples do not exchange visual contact. They all appear to be looking inwardly. They all seem to reject the world, having found peace in their interior. The examination of Marina´s work is a labor of commitment. Marina Pombar is an artist who is always in the process of growth, giving free rein to her imagination. Explores the human body and penetrates inside a sensual world where the images insinuate the constant movement of her spirit. With a sense of life that is new, she accepts the challenge of creating a monumental sculpture entrusted to her by the Missouri Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, to be exhibited in Memorial Park in memory of Carol Gates Throop.
